Yes, this is a shameless attempt to regain my lost TU status so I can once again scan the dregs of this site in hidden comments. Go to Chicago for a few days and this is what I get. Give me tips. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.
Although I blew off most of the forums and workshops on Thursday and Friday to explore the emerald city, Saturday alone was worth the trip. Candidates, Teamster's cookout, the keynote address and meeting with some wonderful people afterwards made my trip. You guys rock.
Thursday night, a fuzzy Howard Dean gave the keynote and was preceded by a great comedy routine by Lee Camp.
Although the convention center was pretty far from the center of the city, it was worth the trip downtown to see Navy Pier and the Shedd Aquarium with the Komodo dragon exhibit.
Kudos to Gina and all the other volunteers for putting on a great show and getting all but one Democratic candidate to participate in a top notch debate.
The Teamsters put on a great cookout on the Lakeview Terrace Saturday night and didn't even run out of food. Hat's off to my girlfriend Mary, who put up with us nuts for four days. And no Steve, she's taken. Here is where I say hello to friends well met, including Shayera, Michael, Begone, Sheddhead, Agnostic, Rebecca and Dreaming of Better Days.
Mary and Rebecca, two beautiful lurkers from the hate site Daily Kos. Peace.
