I was listening to talk radio (WGN 720 am in Chicago) after last night's Cubs game and the topic of discussion was yearlykos. Unfortunately, I was in my car so I couldn't write down the name of the host and his guests (one of whom was the manager of his show) but he said something I found really interesting.
After discussing how "far left", "way far left" and "ultra left wing" dailykos and its members are (their main evidence - kossacks don't like Hillary much), the hosts manager mentioned that a "libertarian" blogger had been banned from dailykos because his diaries were "out of the mainstream" for the site. He went on to say that everyone on the site is "far left" and they only like to hear the same kind of positions on the issues.
I actually don't know what the policy of dailykos is on removing offensive diaries or banning bloggers (if, in fact, bloggers can actually be banned). However, given some of the diaries I have read from different perspectives, I find it hard to believe that bloggers are actually banned from this site. On the other hand I guess I could see if Sean Hannity suddenly decided to blog on dailykos that given that this is a progressive site devoted to electing liberal Democrats, I could see why he might not be welcome to post regularly.
Can anyone comment on WGN's statement that a libertarian blogger has been banned from dailykos because his blogs were deemed unacceptable by the site?
