I would like to remind everyone of the danger of a deadly animal backed into a corner.
While it may seem that you may have it trapped, it is in fact the most dangerous and deadly part of containing the threat that they pose. With Mr. Rove, while his doughy physical presence certainly poses no physical threat to even the whimpiest among us, his tentacles run far and deep, and yes we do have things do be mindful of. Note that I avoided the following word: fear. I am not, nor should we in the Progressive Movement be afraid of Karl Rove. But it IS NOT over.
In fact, we need to continue to dig, fight and follow Mr. Rove, as if he was a candidate for public office. Quietly, slowly, and consistently, we must allow the biggest fish of the Bush inner circle (other than Chimpy and Cheney themselves) to continue to hang himself with his own greedy, destructive thoughts and deeds. In the past AND in the future. FOI requessts. Macaca moments. We need it all. He WILL be out there.
As Progressives, we must fight this battle in principle, person to person, and never allow anyone we speak with to utter the words "yes, but Rove was a political GENIOUS!!!" without due contention. As we know the actual effect of Rove's actions were not net positive, but negative. For the country certainly, but most certainly for the Republican Party. Dont let our freinds and family forget!
As Americans, we must stand united that the actions of his ilk DO NOT represent the vast majority of working Americans, even if the MSM seems to think that somehow he had a magic pudgy finger that could put his finger on the pulse of what they want. Quite the opposite: he knew how to control people thru FEAR. Deception. One of his earliest gags for Bush? A Robocall for Bush for Governor that stated the following: "Would you still support Governor Ann Richards even if you knew that the majority of her advisors were Lesbians?" Effective? You tell me. The opening round of 2008 was fired with the very same announcement of his resignation into Hilary being a "tough but fatally flawed candidate". (I'm paraphrasing). We must NOT ALLOW his words to become conventional wisdom, whether you support Hilary or not!!
As Americans, we must continue to pressure our lawmakers to investigate all of the wrong doings of this administration, in particular Mr. Rove. This IS NOT over people. I want to see him in front of every committee, sub committe and jury possible to occupy every moment of his time between now and the first tuesday of November, 2008. This man has a great deal to answer for.
We must UNDERSTAND! That Karl Rove leaving Washington is not necessarily a good thing. While he is a slimeball, he is no idiot. He has left for a reason. He is now off the radar. I can just about guarantee that he will be on the payroll of an organization such as the Swift Boat Vets, designing the most effective lies to yet again scare the American people into electing a great American such as Rudy, Fred or Mitt. The more time he spends with his lawyers defending himself, the less he has to do that! Lets understand: a good defense is a good offense. Lets go on the offense on this guy NOW. I dont want his bags unpacked before this all starts.
As Progressives, we must not forget that just as Karl Rove was waved in front of the country by the GOP publicity machine as the GENIOUS behind the Bush debacle, we must now REMIND the American people just what that GENIOUS has done in the name of the Republican Party, the White House and in fact you and me. And we must take that same "GENIOUS" and remind voters that in fact the emporer did not have any clothes.
At the end of the day, NEVER forget that Karl Rove was paid by YOU AND ME as taxpayers. We need to use him to add yet another anchor to tie around the leg of the Republican Party. Personally, I am not against Republicans. However, I am against George Bush Republicans, such as Rove. Their days are numbered people.
Sweetest of all, at the end of the day, THE BRAIN will hopefully hear THEE VERDICT someday: Guilty on all counts.
UPDATE 1: From http://en.wikipedia.org/...
Status of Education
In addition to the University of Utah and the University of Maryland, Rove attended George Mason University from 1973 to 1975, and the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. He does not have a college degree from any of these institutions; in July 1999, the Washington Post quoted Rove as saying "I lack at this point one math class, which I can take by exam, and my foreign language requirement." Rove’s first honorary degree was from Jerry Falwell’s Liberty Baptist University in 2004.
It's amazing to me how this country was/is being led by buffons who dont even have a bachelors degree.
