Every single day I turn on the TV, I see it again and again, Bush, Rove, and Republican talking heads all saying the same thing; Hillary is the best the Democrats have to offer. Can we finally call BS on the Republicans picking our candidate for us? We should know they want to run against Hillary.
Why do Republicans love Hillary so much?
....more below the fold.
The Reasons the Republicans love Hillary Clinton so much are many.
- Hillary Clinton is the weakest of the top tier Democrats running. Edwards is much tougher because he will win the borderline states, that Hillary will have a very tough time winning. Obama will be inspiring, and does not carry the baggage of Hillary. Many women are suspicious of Hillary Clinton, and that is not a good starting point. Obama would also probably fare better overall than Hillary if he can run a good campaign.
- Even if Hillary Clinton somehow wins in the general election, she will no doubt turn out to be an only slightly more liberal version of Bill Clinton. She has proven over and over that she cares more about winning than about liberal causes. A few Republicans might actually mean what they say when they say Hillary Clinton is great, because they perhaps feel she is their best candidate to stop really progressive things from happening in this country after 2008. Do any of us Democrats doubt that Edwards or Obama would be more liberal or progressive, and really move much of the debate and dialogue away from the extreme right where it has been for so long?
- Big Business and big Media Love Hillary Clinton, for the same reasons and 1) and 2) above. If the roots of the Democratic party do not wake up soon, we will have the Disney Corporation and Rupert Murdoch picking our nominee for us.
Please consider this next time you see some talking head saying how great Hillary Clinton is, and then plan how you can help stop her from getting the nomination.
BTW, I Love Hillary Clinton, and think she is great, and hope she remains a Senator for a long time or perhaps wins the Presidency later. Also she would be great as VP. But I cannot right now get past my fears centering upon the right-wing love for Hillary.
