I would like to start a DailyKos series designed to monitor and protest our country's march toward war with Iran. I picture it being something like SusanG's Diary Rescue series: a summary of diaries published during a specific time period having something in common. In her case, her belief that the diary deserved more attention than it got from the community, in mine that the diary helps us understand Iran, its people, its government, or our government's policy toward it. Additional details below.
I see this as a weekly, not a daily series. Our purpose is to call attention to diaries that really help us understand where we are, how we got here and where we are headed with respect to Iran, not just every anti-war rant. Days go by without even one such diary, so let's go with a weekly schedule.
Although the emphasis should remain on diaries from the preceding seven days, much older diaries could also be reviewed if they clearly meet the standard and are clearly marked as "older."
I would like to include a poll each week, hopefully with comments about how material in the diaries might help the reader make a choice in the poll.
I recently created the user "Countdown to War with Iran" (email: PersianPeace at gmail dot com). I would like to start a series by the same name in the very near future but I do not have the time or the expertise to do this on my own. If it is going to happen, it will require the efforts of a dedicated group of reviewers comparable to SusanG's "rescue rangers." If you would like to volunteer to do reviews, or if you have specific diaries that you want to see reviewed, or if you have ideas about what questions and options should be covered in the polls, or if you have other suggestions for what you would like to see in the series, please leave your suggestions in the comments of this diary or send an email to PersianPeace at gmail dot com.
Thank you.
