Since Crit Luallen announced that she would not be seeking Mitch McConnell's seat next year, there's been a lot of talk over who is going to step up. Finally, we have a contender we can get excited about.
Horne to seek McConnell's seat
The Louisville Courier-Journal
Iraq War veteran Andrew Horne announced this morning that he will seek the Democratic nomination to challenge U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in next year’s election.
I'm excited about this guy. a 27 year veteran of the Marine Corps, he began making a name for himself in Democratic circles by speaking out against the Iraq War, even giving the the Democrats' response to Bush's Saturday radio address back at the end of March. He's definitely got the resume and the persona to compete in a state like Kentucky, which has had a conservative swing in the past 10 years but is fed up with the Bush administration and McConnell's leadership.
