I have often read on Daily Kos about the stupidity of David Brooks and certainly agree with the idea that he is a dinosaur of the MSM. I have watched him on NPR's Shields and Brooks and thought "what a jackass", but today I bought the NYT and happend to read his editorial Road to Nowhere. More below the fold
Calipygian posted Red State admin Hates GOP Canidates about how the Redstate blog is abandoning the current field of inept Republican canidates. Brooks pretty much states the same idea except mainly criticizing the Mittster.
He states that Romney has pandered to as mainy GOP special interests as possible to get ahead. What Brooks says that shows he can still look at subject critically is when he talks about the coalition that Romney has built had its day 30 years ago. That now
The Republican party is more unpopular than at any point in the last 40 years. Democrats have a 50 to 36 party identification advantage, the widest in a generation. The general public prefers Democratic approaches on health care, corruption, the economy and Iraq by double digit margins.
and it goes on
Republicans’ losses have come across the board, but the G.O.P. has been hemorrhaging support among independent voters. Surveys from the Pew Research Center and The Washington Post, Kaiser Foundation and Harvard University show that independents are moving away from the G.O.P. on social issues, globalization and the roles of religion and government
I think it is great to see the Republicans squirm and Brooks is on board for that when he finishes with this about Romney
His triumph this month would mean a Democratic victory in November
Thanks for the pay off quote Dave, I hope you all have as much agony as a Democratic landslide can offer!
