Someone mentioned elsewhere that they've been having a hard time finding breakdowns for last night's Iowa caucus voters.
I submit that the reason you see few breakdowns for Iowa caucus voters is because those Iowans are very prudent people who know enough to expect that it's very likely to be very cold on caucus night, so they prepare their cars (and trucks, and tractors, etc.) well before winter to minimize the number of breakdowns that people from states of lesser caution might experience on a cold night in January. I've met many Iowans and live in a nearby state and so I know this to be true. Most of the Iowans that I know are well prepared well ahead of time for caucus night and have already drained, flushed, and replenished their automotive cooling systems fluids -- often well before Thanksgiving -- and have very likely checked and rechecked their radiator fluids, motor oil and transmission lubricant levels, battery specific gravity levels, and tire pressures several times between then and last night. Moreover, almost all Iowans carry jumper cables, flashlights, blankets, extra boots, ice melting chemicals and shovels in their vehicles so if they were to experience a breakdown or some other mishap on caucus night they could, in all probability, still get to their caucus site to register their choices, eat some leftover xmas cookies, visit with their neighbors, and maybe squeeze in a few games of euchre. And even if they did suffer a breakdown of some kind, they'd likely still make it even then, as Iowans are so damned neighborly some even better prepared neighbor would probably pick up the broken down one on their way to their caucus and bring them along.
So don't be so surprised not to hear much about breakdowns for Iowa caucus goers. Now, New Hampshire primary goers, hah! They're a whole different story. They're all about living free and dying up there and probably don't give a rat's ass about prudent wintertime motor vehicle preparation either. They don't even caucus with each other and, I suspect, aren't very neighborly either. They just show up at the polls (or try to -- with their attitudes it's a crapshoot they'll even make it there) cast a ballot and go back to their bars and homes and moose lodges or whatever to drink and be lonely and celebrate their free living and dying. Expect breakdowns by the dozens for those wacky people. They also wouldn't know a good game of euchre if it bit them in the bauers.
