I was watching CBS news last night (I usually watch NBC as the whole mistreatment of Rather and Katie's vapidity have turned me off)and along comes coverage of of the primaries...First the Repubs are covered...lots of talk about Romney's make or break in Michigan and lots of coverage of Ghouliani down in Florida. Plenty of talk about McCain and Huckabee and in the end comes out to say it's a pretty even race. They put up a nice graphic of the four aforementioned candidates and their respective percentage in some notional poll (Ron Pual is absent, but figure he's below 5%) Ok, so here comes the coverage of the Democratic candidates....
First we get to see all the hoopla about Obama's people bashing Hillary and Hillary's people bashing Obama and lots of talk about the the upcoming Nevada primaries and not one peep about Edwards.
It's my understanding there is pretty much a three-way tie; Edwards, Clinton, and Obama are all within the margin of error, so this should make for an interesting horse race, right. So no specific coverage of Edwards, fine, maybe nothing he did today is particularly newsworthy. So here is where I got really pissed, along comes the graphic of the national polls and lo and behold, they only show Clinton and Obama (at 40ish and 30ish, IIRC). I mean Edwards probably has 25% of the vote and they don't even show him in the graphic!!!!
All four Republican candidates are shown and get camera time and a few weeks earlier they were talking plenty about McCain even when he was only polling 10% nationally, but Edwards doesn't even get a fucking peep!!!
I'm not one to don the tinfoil hat, but it seems to me Edwards is getting blacked out on the network news.....how can CBS get away with totally ignoring him and making it sound like it's only between Clinton and Obama? I mean any coverage is good whether is positive of negative, but conspicuous absence of mention is definitely fucked up....
