Based on the passion displayed in these diaries, I know that there are many who are disappointed by this news. But I imagine that it is only a fraction of the disappointment that the Edwards family and staff must feel at this moment.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank John, Elizabeth, Kate, and especially Emma Claire and Jack. When a candidate runs for office, the whole family runs for office, sometimes, whether they like it or not. In the case of the Edwards family, they all brought their warmth, passion, and dedication to the ideals of America.
They understand what real morality is and challenged all of us to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, "Who is going to bed hungry to night? Who else has a chance at the American dream, and what can we do to help them achieve it?"
I want to use this thread for everyone who wishes to, to thank the Edwards for their service to the public, and the ideas and ideals we all can support.
Thank you John and Elizabeth, for all of your sacrifices, for all of your passion. Please keep prodding the remaining candidates with a stick. Thank you Kate, and Emma Claire and Jack. Thanks for sharing them with us. You have all been just great.
Again, thank you for speaking for people who wouldn't otherwise be heard. Thank you for reminding people that the budget of the United States is a moral document which expresses our priorities as a nation. Thank you for fighting the good fight, the best fight, and for encouraging us to our most humane selves.
We look forward to the next chapter. In the meantime, get some rest!
Please post your message of thanks to any or all members of the Edwards family or campaign. Let's keep it nice, please. Thank you, Kossacks.
