Democrats Abroad conducted their primary around the world during the week of February 5-12, but only now are the results in.
Geneva is the home of the Democrats Abroad organization International Chair. The Democrats Abroad primary results were posted on its website.
Final results:
Barack Obama 65.6%
Hillary Clinton 32.7%
That's 11 in a row for Obama (including the Virgin Islands)! There are 7 pledged delegate-equivalents to be awarded, in addition to 4 superdelegate-equivalents. I say "equivalents" because there will actually be 22 delegates sent to Denver, but each will only get a half-vote.
In this diary of mine a week ago, I collected information about Democrats Abroad voting around the world to reveal the heavy turnout and enthusiasm for Barack Obama.
This victory puts Obama over 1200 in pledged delegates! This is according to his campaign's website showing 1199 prior to this.
Celebrate below!
UPDATE: Here are the actual numbers of votes from a PDF on the DA website:
Obama 14,937
Clinton 7,439
Biden 15
Edwards 154
Kucinich 137
Richardson 20
Uncommitted 53
Total 22,755
UPDATE 2
Some quick country results from scanning the PDF:
The country turnout for voting was highest in the UK, France and Germany, which seems natural. Also relatively high turnout in Japan and Thailand. But it is amazing how many countries are represented, even ones where only 1 vote was cast.
UK: Obama 2144, Clinton 936
France: Obama 1589, Clinton 591
Germany: Obama 1016, Clinton 484
Italy: Obama 864, Clinton 351
UPDATE 3
Hillary won Israel, Dominican Republic and the Philippines! Those countries by definition are now significant.
Israel: Clinton 190, Obama 159
Dominican Republic: Clinton 606, Obama 65 (90% to 10%)
Philippines: Clinton 79, Obama 64
UPDATE 4
In the comments, redstaterabroad notes that Geneva is not the home of Democrats Abroad; it is the home of the International Chair, Christine Marques. DA is registered in the US and has its Executive Offices in Washington, DC.
UPDATE 5
OK, people. CANADA! had the second highest turnout:
Obama 1398
Clinton 807
Way to go Americans in the Great White North, eh.
UPDATE 6
