Let's start with this. It's completely irrelevant to anything relating to the performance of one's duties as president whether the president has had affairs.
For all my conservative friends who insisted that in Clinton's case it wasn't about the sex, it was the perjury trap, I want to assure everyone that I don't care, and no one should care, whether McCain had sexual relations with that woman.
Per se.
No, what matters, of course, are the inappropriate favors he did for his cute little lobbyist-Friday and her clients. He paid her off.
I mean, this is all assuming there was sex involved. But who are we kidding? Of course there was. He's a reasonably charming man if you don't piss him off, she's a pretty woman, they were clearly attracted to each other enough to alarm his advisors, marital fidelity is known not to be high on John's list of personal virtues: why wouldn't they have sex? Nothing wrong with it... and none of our business. Might matter to some Christian conservatives, but not to most Americans, and rightly so.
Except. The problem is he exchanged goods or services for sexual favors.
So it's not about the sex, it's about the prostitution. Repeat that every time it's brought up. It's not the sex, it's the prostitution.
Oh, and this gives us a little dig, back at our conservative friends, whenever they bring up Obama's unfortunate middle name, or mention the Great Unpleasantess of 1998.
"John" McCain. For Services Rendered.
