It appears despite plastering on a friendly face in the debate the Clinton campaign has continued down the path that makes this observer think she's going to go down swinging and take the party with her if she has to.
Despite her statements recognizing that Florida and Michigan were not going to count and despite her recognition that NH and IA are special to our party it looks like Clinton is really going to try to seat the delegates from FL and MI.
FL, where everyone was on the ballot is one thing (but it was still not a free and fair election) but in Michigan she was the only one on the ballot.
When dictators pull such stunts we ridicule them and mock them mercilessly. Unless you’re Bush of course and they're our "allies". But that's beside the point. The Bush administration thinks a democracy is whatever keeps them and their cronies abroad in power.
Apparently though so does Clinton. Arguing that the voters spoke in both FL & MI is not only disingenuous it's dangerous.
Not only is it dangerous to the Democratic party which at a minimum would lose the election to a deeply flawed and deeply wounded John McCain should those delegates be seated (as it would fracture the party) but it's a dangerous precedent to set for our nation.
In 2000, the Supreme Court of the United States appointed our President despite the fact that he lost. Now a person running for president is arguing that an election where she was the only person on the ballot should be counted towards the final tally and if it gives her enough votes she should be the Democratic nominee.
Ready on day one? I don't think so. Someone needs to brush up on what it means to be part of the democratic process first.
