Wow, I was one mad SOB when I woke up this morning. It was Rush's fault, damn them and their negative campaigning, and I was out of coffee!!!!!! I posted some crappy and stupid things here and other places, for that I apologize.
After playing with my kids and taking a few deep breaths, I regained perspective....
- My candidate is still in the race and is still the person that I want to vote for. He didn't do something stupid. He didn't pout. And he was a class act for thanking Ohio, RI and Texas. Don't judge a person by how they act during the good times; judge them by how they act when the world is against them. I donated more and will be running up my phone bill.
- I heard this story on NPR driving home. It is the overview of Mueller's testimony today. My Senator Dianne Feinstein broke him, but it was what I heard in Mueller's voice that impressed me and gave me hope. Listen about 1:30 in when Mueller starts talking about how the FBI is failing the American public. Rather than being angry or defiant toward Senator Feinstein, Mueller, for all intents and purposes, asked for help. Rather than getting up on a soapbox, my Senator let Mr. Mueller talk. I realized that Mueller really wants to do his job and he wants to do it well. And after 7 years of an executive branch that defiled the Constitution, Mr. Mueller and my Senator broke through that today with an open and honest discussion. I love my Senator.
- I wanted Obama's concession speech in New Hampshire and his speech at Ebenezer. If you really think that speeches are just words, then you and I are on different sides of the aisle. If you don't think that a black man standing in a black church in the south and advocating for gays is just words, then you and I are on different sides of the aisle. I respect the other side, but I will be damned if I don't do everything in my power to make sure that my side leads this nation so that my kids have a better place than what we can offer then today.
