In light of Hillary, I owed Dr. Dean a letter. I think we all do?
Dr. Dean: My girlfreind and I agreed to disagree in regard to the 2008 elections. I am an Obama supporter, she is for Hillary. We agreed in January, that whoever won, we would both swallow our pride and get behind the winner, as we are both democrats. I informed her today that our deal is off. And I am now informing you as well.
I will not support Hillary Clinton for president under any circumstances in 2008. Her campaign tactics, dishonest statements and negative message..... and worst yet, playing the FEAR card are it. I'm done. You as the leader of the party need to step in and make a statement for the party. You need to make a statement of what you think are reasonable ground rules from this point forward within the context of the greater democratic message. Please stop REACTING to the news, and start CREATING it. You must referee. If you do not, she WILL walk all over you as well. Whats to stop her? She makes no bones about her feelings on your 50 state plan. It has been reported that she has even set up as "shadow DNC" to replace you in the event that she wins. Is this what you want as a Democrat?
She is tearing this party apart. If she was to win this election with her message, I would have supported her, but she is now tearing the entire message of the party down with her. That message was Democratic UNITY. And change for a better future. Right now, we are staring into the eyes of a political past that we all want to forget....... Willie Horton and the swift boats are NOT far away. She is not concerned with a DEMOCRATIC victory in November, she is concerned with victory for her at all costs, damn the party and damn everyone else no matter how far down the ticket they may be. Her negative tactics have consequences for EVERYONE. From local school board members, state legislatures, all the way to the senate and of course presidential campaign. Her message, if she was to win, becomes the de-facto Democratic message. Are you honestly comfortable with this type of negativity?
I for one, refuse to be fitted with the concrete slippers that she forces me to wear. I PLEAD with you to step in and at least make a stand on what you think about her campaign tactics publicly. We need to come together as a party, not divide and conquer amongst ourselves. We need to CONTINUE to take the high road, as all candidates EXCEPT Hilary have. If she truly believes, as she said today in no uncertain terms, that John McCain is more qualified to be president that her FELLOW PARTY MEMBER Barack Obama, she has crossed the line with me. I hereby with hold any financial support I have given directly to the party, and will not volunteer as I have time and time again (with the exception of helping Barack Obama directly until his campaign is over OR successful), until either she is defeated, or you make a stand for what is right. At your core, I know how you must feel. PLEASE listen to that voice and make a stand before it is too late. I'm sure I am not alone in my feelings.
With deep regret and disappointment,
KC
A proud DEMOCRAT in MI
