Hi Kossacks. I'm a Hillary supporter.
Let me say I've thrown some elbows and caught a few here myself.
There's been times when I responded in anger, mocked some of you or your candidate - and said things I'd like to think I wouldn't say in real life. I also think it's fair to say that it's gotten heated here at times. ; )
I would like to put the partisan stuff aside for now and speak to you from the heart.
I speak only for myself. For me to think that anyone else should come to the same conclusions as me is the height of arrogance. (Not that I'm not "all too human")
I mean, if I don't always know what's right for me, how can I say I know what's right for you? Heck, I'm still putting together my jigsaw puzzle.
I will get to the point.
Senator Obama is qualified to be President of the United States - and should he be nominated, he will have my vote. He is accomplished, more than qualified, smart and from what I can gather - a quick study. And it certainly doesn't hurt to have the most telegenic family since JFK.
And two of my favorite musicians - Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder support him. That actually means more to than Senators Kerry and Kennedy. Hey, I'm a musician.
I do not mock hope. Or change.
For it is someone who has given up hope who straps explosives on their person and becomes a suicide bomber.
And it is only through change that wrongs may be righted and injured hearts healed.
These are not small things to me.
Nor is the defense or the securty of our country. I believe both our candidates are qualified.
I'm not elaborating on any candidate's policies and I am a strong Hillary supporter - I simply wish to say that Senator Obama is qualified to be POTUS. And highly so.
In parting, I ask your indulgence to also say Larry Johnson and Susanhu are my friends. For the record.
I know for a fact neither are racists and I know I would be less than a person if I didn't tell you what I believe. It is good we are passionate - may we always be - for what we believe.
My name is Bobby Murray, I play guitar with Etta James- I have done so for twenty years now and am proud to be a contributing writer at Larry Johnson's No Quarter.
