Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Price winner and former first minister of Northern Ireland scoffs at the suggestion that Hillary had anything to do with bringing peace to the region according to an article in the Telegraph.
It would seem that simple tourism may not adequately prepare one to offer solutions and answer that 3am call. He goes on to describe her involvement in the peace process which she claims as part of 35 years of experience.
"I don’t know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton]going around," he said.
While having behind the scenes ringside seat is an advantage, it is quite different than having an impact on the outcome of an event.
"She visited when things were happening, saw what was going on, she can certainly say it was part of her experience. I don’t want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player."
