Time after time Obama has run a holy - than - thou campaign. At one point I was starting to buy this notion "I am not a Washington Politician, turns out, yes he is.
I know that the LA Times and many other sources have reported that Rezko, a businessman long active in Chicago politics, played a deeper role in Obama’s political and financial biography than Obama has acknowledged. Why is this out of the spot light. I think people are called politicians when they try to dodge issues like these the American people need to know about. So is Obama secretive, "yes he is"!
Since January of this year, Obama has sought to down play or shall we say minimize the nature of the soon to be perfect storm. What has been Obama’s take on this. "A mistake." Obama, is that all you have to say about this, I guess that is your response to your 120 + votes for "present" in the IL state senate.
For all you Obama people out there here is a fact, debunk this if you want but Obama has said time after time that he did nothing in exchange for Rezko’s early and consistent support. In 1998, then state senator Obama wrote to state and city officials urging them to provide funding for New Kenwood LLC! What is New Kenwood LLC, I will be happy to tell you, company that was formed by Rezko and Allison Davis.
Bill Burton, press secretary for Obama’s presidential campaign, said the letters Obama wrote, were not indented as a favor to Rezko or Davis. Rezko, his employees, and business associates, have provided Obama more than $200K in donations since 1995.
On June 15, 2005 Obama and his wife brought a home for 1.65 million. Why am I bringing this up, let me say, after all, Obama "there is nothing improper in these transactions". The housing deal came after not before but after it was known that Rezko was under scrutiny by federal authorities.
Where did Rezko get the money to buy this home. court documents related to his criminal case show that at the time of the land purchase, creditors were pursuing Rezko for more than $10 million. Rezko argues in the case documents that he is essentially broke now. This raises the question of how he was able to come up with $125,000 and a $500,000 mortgage to buy the property.
Has Obama refused to answer "basic inquiries"? No he has not, but he hasn’t been completely open either. For instance, he did not disclose until last month that Rezko actually toured the home with him before the purchase. He also has released the e-mail from the home’s seller to only one news organization.
Obama hasn’t provided details of the fundraisers Rezko held for him, nor has he released documents related to the property, such as the appraisal of the strip of land he bought from Rezko.
When asked on March 7, 2008 about Rezko, Obama says to reporters "Guys, I mean come on. I just answered like eight questions." Oh really Obama, stay silent, well, stop calling Hillary secretive. I just may have to call you a politician. Yes I will!
