And yet it happens again. Someone speaks the truth about this campaign and she is being called a racist. Well as a black Clinton supporter, I would like to say thank you Ms. Ferraro for speaking the truth.
Let’s take a look at what Ferraro said:
"I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama's campaign - to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against," she said. "For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It's been a very sexist media. Some just don't like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.
The media's coverage of this Obama and Clinton campaign has been a complete embarrassment. I never thought in my lifetime that I would agree with Republicans who complain about the liberal media bias, but this has been clearly evident. It took Saturday Night Live to finally put it on full display. It is so bad that I now watch the returns on the cable news channels with the mute button on. So Ms. Ferraro is absolutely right. However, along with sexist, she should have included white-guilt. It reminds of the one Seinfeld episode where Elaine thinks she is dating a lite-skin black guy only to find out he is just a "plain old white guy", so during the revealing conversation they look at each other and ask "Should we be talking about this (race)?" That’s how the media covers Obama. If I could use one word to describe Obama’s coverage it would be: cowardly. One could argue because the media has been so biased in favor of Obama, that they may have in fact undermined his candidacy. How? Well because the media is so clearly bias, any objective American who is not wrapped up in Obama-mania is still asking who is this guy? Or, people who were initially behind Obama are starting to take a second-look. Who knows he may have even won a big state by now. Meanwhile, because Clinton has been beaten up so badly by the press, and she is still standing, she is now being viewed as tough and courageous. Pretty interesting article below.

Ferraro also said:
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." Ferraro does not buy the notion of Obama as the great reconciler.
I read somewhere on Kos, where someone was arguing that Obama’s candidacy has nothing to do with race. It transcends race. Really? Well why is Senator Obama’s national campaign co-chair, Jesse Jackson, Jr. (who is only in office b/c of his dad) threatening black congressmen and congresswomen that support Clinton, that they may face opposition in their primary solely because they support Clinton. The John Lewis episode was a disgrace and also very sad for a man who has been called courageous by the white media. To black America, he is just another one of thousands who were part of the Civil Rights movement.
Why would Michelle Obama go on Black Entertainment Television and blatantly imply that Bill Clinton called her husband’s candidacy a fairy tale? And why would the Obama campaign push the race issue so hard heading into the South Carolina primary? Why did it take Oprah to come in and assure blacks that Obama was black enough? When I ask black Obama supporters why they are supporting Obama, here is just a sample of the answers I get. "It is time for a black president". "Tired of whitey". "He is cute". "I believe Obama is a man of God". And my favorite: "he has a black wife and black kids".
So I would like to ask Obama supporters who contend this is not about race, if Obama had a white wife, how well would he be doing? I am going to cross a line and ask if Obama had a lite-skin wife, how well would he be doing? Needless to say if Obama was a white man, the race would be over by now because he would not have received the current level of black support and the liberal media would not be afraid to question him.
If Obama supporters cannot admit that his candidacy is about race, then you are just not being honest with yourself. America is about race, and politics are a part of America, just ask Rep. Cohen in TN. And let me not forget the white Obama supporters, who are so proud of themselves for voting for a "viable" black candidate or as Shelby Steele calls it the "acceptable" black candidate, but probably have no idea what is going in black America...and a lot don't care. (The last statement applies to no one on Daily Kos) And now I read that Obama is saying Ferraro comments are dividing America. My suggestion to Obama and his supporters, is to watch "Little Rock Central: 50 years later" on HBO and then we can talk what is dividing America.
And to the Obama mainstream media who are pushing the fact that if Hillary is the nominee, blacks will not vote for her? That is BS. This is another ploy by Obama supporters. Blacks will still vote for Hillary. Now I know some black Obama supporters will get on here and say no one in their family will, or they talk to this person or that person and they will not, and someone will no doubt quote some poll and that’s fine, but I repeat: Blacks will still for vote for Hillary. For a lot of blacks this is truly a very difficult vote. And Hillary going down to speak at the State of Black Union conference in Louisiana after the Louisiana primary had already taken place, or speaking at a black sorority conference in DC when she could have been campaigning will not be overlooked. Furthermore, blacks don't worship politicians. As much as the media would want people to believe, Obama is still actually a human being. I know his ego makes him think he is a god, but blacks are just as skeptical of him, as they are of any other politician.
