With the Limbaugh games being played, Michigan not having party registrations, and absolutely nothing going on in the Republican side of things, I'm worried about the Michigan vote. How will they be able to prevent it from being gamed when they don't have the data to do so?
I do have a potential solution for the problem, what I need to know is if it is possible.
What my plan is is that to get a ballot, everyone has to sign an oath. No, it doesn't make you a member of the party or anything, it just simply says, "Under penalty of perjury, I hereby declare that I did not vote in the January Republican primary." That should prevent many people from playing games; recall that the January primary was contested for the Republicans so Limbaugh's voters already would have cast their ballot.
There's only one problem with this plan. When you vote in Michigan, do they notate next to your name what ballot you took? If this information isn't available, this would make it harder to check for perjury. Of course, if it is available, a simpler plan could be to remove anyone from the voter rolls for this election who voted then.
Anyone have any suggestions or concerns? If this is possible, can anyone forward this idea over to the Obama camp?
(As an aside, is it me or is a Michigan revote with Florida lost in the mire the worst case scenario for the Clinton camp? She loses her (admittedly very lame) argument for a huge delegate/popular vote gain and might even lose this, but one of her big popular vote strongholds will remain questionable.)
