Obama supporters have apparently changed their political stripes and instead of mocking right wing political rags such as the Politico they are now quoting them. Why? Because they say Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race. The formerly mocked Mark Halperin has apparently become an overnight genius as well for saying the same. Funny that.
Strange that many Obama supporters can't seem to figure out why such traditionally conservative friendly journalists suddenly make the most excellent of bedfellows. It's actually not rocket science. We are on day 11 of Pastorgate, with no end in sight, where we discovered that Barack Obama's actions are pretty much the opposite of what he preaches.
Barack Obama’s claims that he can unify the country and end divisiveness have been the cornerstones of his campaign. However, he seems to have failed at that within his own church even though he and his family have attended it for twenty years. In fact until the pastor’s divisive comments became public Obama didn’t seem interested in addressing them at all.
It’s hard to imagine allowing your children to attend a church that preaches things such as "God Damn America," and even harder to believe someone that has supported a church like that could then claim the mantle of a leader that is capable of leading us in the opposite direction.
Obviously, Hillary Clinton must be on to something when she says actions speak louder than words. Barack Obama’s actions clearly fail to match his rhetoric.
And while Obama supporters had fun quoting this Fox News poll yesterday to assert that most people don't believe Obama shares Wright's views, they neglected to show the full measure of the poll, which is much more troubling.
Fox News Poll
Over a third of voters (35 percent) and a quarter of Democrats (26 percent) and independents (27 percent) say Obama’s relationship with Rev. Wright has caused them to have doubts about him.
That data suggests that Obama cannot be elected in the general election. You can whistle past the graveyard; pretend it's all good and there is nothing to worry about; or continue to be delusional. But the facts are that new SUSA polling shows Obama failing miserably in a head to head against McCain even in blue states such as MA. Forget about Ohio. He is dead there. As more state to state polls are conducted the results will likely be the same. People don't elect politicians that sanction such statements as "God Damn America." Not going to happen.
So of course the conservative media wants Clinton out. When she leaves the race it's as good as over and President McCain is assured. If we are to have any chance at all in November Clinton must hold fast, continue to insist that MI and FL voters have a voice, and make her case to supers that Obama is simply not electable post Pastorgate.
