Every morning I stop by a small cafe in the financial district of San Francisco. I like it there, as they serve organic coffee, and the staff makes it a point to remember which one I like; always a sign of a great cafe to me. Usually, I just pick up my large, organic sumatra and walk out the door, headphones on, listening to music on my walk in from work. Today, however, I didn't have my headphones. Today I ordered a bagel with my coffee, so I had some time to kill. And that's when he came in, the revelation, that is.
He was middle-aged, slightly overweight, and wearing glasses. I watched, as he started to crack the jokes about Hillary and "SniperGate" with the barrista. As he noticed I was listening, I reminded him that she hadn't said under sniper fire just once, but several times, and he nodded and laughed.
"Do you read the blogs?" I asked, amazed that someone who looked so Republican would be a Democrat and a blog reader.
"Nope. Just the regular paper," he replied, confusing me even more.
And that's when it hit me.
We've finally crossed over, we've finally "closed the triangle."
Congratulations everyone, we're on our way back to the Republic.
