Yesterday Troutfishing wrote a diary about the veritable smoking gun needed to make impeachment not just possible but imperative. His diary was based on a piece reported by (OMG) ABC News (Holy Shit). And over at Docudharma, Valtin has written a piece on the National Lawyers Guild's call for the firing of John Yoo from his position at UC Berkeley's law school. And then trying him for war crimes.
If we go after John Yoo who only wrote the memos meant to give cover to his bosses, then we should definitely go after those bosses. And the smoking gun is a 2002 NSC decision memo seen here. Now Mrs. Speaker can we cut the BS about Impeachment being off the table. And don't come up with more BS about this being an election year and not something the country want to see. The country wants to have pride in their country and its leadership, with the stain that BushCo has put on our country, many find that difficult to do at this time in our history.
Only the most naive or intentionally obtuse refuse to accept what Bush and company have done to this country. And without impeachment, we lay the groundwork for the next generation of Cheneys and Rumsfelds. Just as our failure to impeach Nixon set us up for this crowd. We can't heal the nation until we get rid of the cause of the malady.
Okay, I'll not rehash Troutfishing's work, if you haven't read it do so now. Now it's time to get on to the purpose of MF, fun and mojo collection. First I want to thank Sarahnity for excellent job of hosting last week and remind you to visit Frugal Friday today. Sarah won't be hosting but support the guest host.
On with the fun.
Before we jump to the goals and guidelines I want to emphasize The Mojo Friday Post Game Show by goffnews. If you haven't gone there before, you need to go just to see where you rank in the amount of mojo you've handed out. Goffnews launches around 4:30 PM EDT.
Mojo Friday Guidelines
1. If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to recieve mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
2. Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
3. You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
4. You don't have to comment to recommend.
5. You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
6. Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments
7. Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo
Mojo Friday Goals
A. at least 200 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by goffnews.
G. (New) Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 100 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
MKinTN posted a diary to help everyone achieve greater success called How to Succeed at Mojo Friday Without Really Trying.

UPDATE:
From the comments via Jennifer Poole,
Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., lambasted what he described as "yet another astonishing disclosure about the Bush administration and its use of torture."
"Who would have thought that in the United States of America in the 21st century, the top officials of the executive branch would routinely gather in the White House to approve torture?" Kennedy said in a statement. "Long after President Bush has left office, our country will continue to pay the price for his administration's renegade repudiation of the rule of law and fundamental human rights."
