WOW!
I mean wow. What a waste of time. They went into over time to make sure they got to ask at least one more non substance issue.
So let's see...
We taled about Bittergate. We talked about Wrightgate. We talked about Bosniagate. And even Fucking Flaggate. FLAGGATE!
Non issue after non issue after non issue.
And then we finally get to some actual issues, and the frames out of the mouths of republicans. ABC could not have asked worse questions. They weren't designed to elicit actually policy differences between the two candidates. They were designed to frame the issue in republican frames.
I will admit, Senator Clinton had some high points. Several times when I was reminded how much I actually do like her Wonkiness. But she still chose to focus in on the contrived media scandals when she could, rather than dismiss them as pointless the way Obama tried to.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the debate was a waste of time, other than to act as a trollish Republican hit piece on Democrats.
A Sullivan reader:
And, as a side note, it seems like it would've been better to have had George Will moderate the debate. I have much more faith in his fairness and concern with policy than what these two just put forward.
MissLaura:
Given the historically poor quality of the questions tonight, I'm not going to put up the standard post-debate poll about who won.
