Newest Obama Superdelegate: Steve Achelpohl
Drip, drip, drip...
Today, Democratic State Chairman Steve Achelpohl of Omaha has announced his endorsement for Sen. Barack Obama:
Achelpohl hands superdelegate vote to Obama
In announcing his endorsement, the Obama campaign released a statement from Achelpohl citing the senator’s ability to "put states like Nebraska in play" during the presidential election this fall.
"Sen. Obama continues to transcend ‘politics as usual’ and focus on the issues that really matter to American families and workers," Achelpohl said.
Obama, he said, will "unite Americans from all walks of life behind his historic movement for change."
"Our party can unite behind Sen. Obama and his positive campaign."
Chairman Achelpohl is correct. Our party can unite behind a campaign that seeks to unite all 50 states. A campaign that espouses honor, fairness, and decency not only for Americans, but also for the greater global community that we live in. That campaign, however, does not belong to Hillary Clinton.
The right-wing, kitchen-sink Rovian strategies that Hillary Clinton has been employing in her quest to secure the Democratic Party nomination is slowly but surely throttling her campaign.
Supers: One for Obama, One Less for Clinton
...as we continue to check in with the campaigns and confirm our lists against theirs, we are subtracting one from Clinton's, a DNC member who has gone uncommitted and who had previously been thought to be backing Clinton.
And if it continues much longer, it may throttle the Democratic Party, as well.
