It's not much, but I went to clinton.senate.gov/contact and sent the following email:
Please stop using GOP talking points against Senator Obama.
If you can't win the nomination as a Democrat, maybe that's a hint that you should drop out.
At this point you're insulting every Democrat who didn't vote for you, to the detriment of our party and our chances against McCain in November.
Sure, you think you're the best candidate for November, but the Democratic voters disagree and are voting in favor of Obama.
Four more years of a Republican administration might just destroy the rule of law in this country.
You're only helping them to achieve that end by slandering your worthy opponent.
Signed, in disgust, and with the hope that you will proceed with some class and some shred of dignity,
-[Astoria Chris]
I couple of months ago, though I preferred (and still prefer) Obama, I would have happily cast my vote for Clinton had she become the nominee.
On the very slim chance that she wins, I'll still cast it for her, but not happily.
Scorched earth may be necessary in a general election, but to use those tactics in a primary shows me an allegiance to self over party, and I cannot respect that.
I banged out my email in the spur of the moment, and I could have done better, I think.
So, please do myself and all of us Dems a favor and send your own email to Hillary and try to explain (politely, of course!) why her recent smear campaign is such a bad idea.
Thank you!
