This is my letter to my Governor, the Governor of Oregon who I heard yesterday on NPR talking about how HRC offers the best leadership for Oregon and the Northwest. I didn't much elaborate on my points because I believe that my conclusions as stated have been argued much more coherently than I can. I'm just letting the man know how I feel, as a voter in his state. Only 1000 characters is allowed and this letter is 993.
Dear Mr. Governor,
I voted for you in 2006 and I believe that you are a good governor for our state and have good feelings for you in general. I am writing to you today to express my displeasure and disappointment that you have taken the time and energy to promote Hillary Clinton for President.
Hillary Clinton can not win and is using her opportunity to destroy the good name of Barack Obama. She is engaged in the worst kind of destructive character assassination attacks on the man who has all but wrapped up the Democratic nomination. She is using old-school slash and burn dirty politics to try and destroy our best chance in the fall.
I realize you probably have good reasons for thinking that she will be a good president, and you may be right. But the campaign she is running is ugly and divisive and should not be supported. I urge you to reconsider your endorsement in light of the horrible methods she is using before your name becomes too attached to this type of dirty politics.
