As stated on its website:
The AAA-Fund is a Democratic political action committee whose goal is to increase the voice of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders on every level of local, state and federal government in America. To achieve this goal, we address the chronic under-representation of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) as campaign volunteers, campaign contributors, and candidates for political office.
I learned about the June 10 gala from the AAA-Fund Blog, which notes:
Donations will go to the AAA-Fund to support its continuing efforts to mobilize our community, enlarge our Senate and House majority, and take back the White House in 2008.
Among the notable attendees will be Rep. Mike Honda (CA-15), Chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, and Rep. Mazie Hirono (HI-02), Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Event MC Kelly Hu has been campaigning across the country for fellow Hawai`i native Barack Obama this year. Here's a video she's made for the campaign, with Korean subtitles:
This should be a great way to celebrate and relax with friends following the grueling primary season.
Here's the form to order tickets to the June 10 gala or, if you can't make the event, to make a donation to the Asian American Action Fund:
