Reads the headline in Today's Jerusalem Post
US President George W. Bush intends to attack Iran in the upcoming months, before the end of his term, Army Radio quoted officials in Jerusalem as saying Tuesday.
The official claimed that a senior member of the president's entourage said during a closed meeting that Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney were of the opinion that military action was called for.
However, the official continued, "the hesitancy of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice" was preventing the administration from deciding to launch such an attack on the Islamic Republic.
That's disturbing. Do you think the administration will comment on this report?
Will Speaker Pelosi? Or Senators Obama, McCain or Clinton? If true, why on earth was this disclosed?
If true, this must have been said in confidence, is our ally disclosing military operational plans in order to thwart them? Or to encourage them?
At least one JPost reader things it is a good move:

Iran threatens to wipe Israel off the map and spread Jihad around the world. Condi wants to offer Ahmed prizes for giving up his prized Nuclear program. Seems like George's To Do list should be first to fire Condi, then to fire a couple hundred bunker busters at Iran.

The cease-fire (tahdiyeh) being negotiated between Israel and the Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip is expected to go into effect in a number of days, following developments at the end of meetings held by Defense Minister Ehud Barak in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday with the Egyptian leadership.
The Egyptian Chief of Intelligence, General Omar Suleiman, who has been mediating between the parties, is scheduled to meet Tueday with the heads of the Palestinian factions in the Strip.

What will the administration say about that? Negotiating with Hamas and all? What about the candidates? Do they support a truce?
