Top McCain adviser Charlie Black has made a very controversial, really eye-opening statement. Think Progress reports that Charlie Black told Fortune that another terrorist attack would be a big advantage to McCain.
"But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who’s ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us." As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. "Certainly it would be a big advantage to him," says Black.
You can find the Fortune article and read it for yourself.
According to TPM, McCain "strenuously disagree[s]" with the statement.
Everyone ready to watch this disappear from the narrative? These people continuously manipulate the America public, relying mainly on fear-mongering in order to stay in power. The Republican nominee's campaign admits it, and we are about to brush this off as just a "policy dispute."
Someone, please prove me wrong. I'm begging...
Update: h/t to Vita Brevis
Here is Black's apology:
"Charlie deeply regrets his comments. They were inappropriate and he recognizes that the candidate we work for has devoted his entire adult life to protecting his country and placing its security before every other consideration."
