Quick diary here:
I have been as dissapointed as everyone else around here about Congress' inexplicable cave-in on FISA and even more dissapointed by Obama's apparent willingness to go along with it.
I read SFLibera's diary this morning (here) about a possible fillibuster on the bill planned in the Senate by Chris Dodd and Russ Feingold.
I want to offer a quick way to express our support for such a fillibuster...details below the flip.
Some quick background:
I lined up behind Obama very early in the primary and have been as big an Obama backer as there is. But when, early in the primary, Chris Dodd organized a fillibuster of an earlier version of the current Telecom Immunity Bill (let's call it what it really is) I donated some money to his campaign to express my support for his actions. I was glad to see at the time that Obama supported Dodd in his fillibuster and indicated that he would not vote to break it.
When Dodd ended his campaign he had the normal debt to retire and I donated again to express my support.
Along with the hos of other actions suggested by those here, IMHO I think that NOW would be another good time to donate some money to Chris Dodd to help him retire his campaign debt and send a note along expressing our support for the FISA fillubster.

I am not a single issue voter though protecting and sustaining civil rights is high on my list of priorities. I will still strongly and passionately support Obama. I had hoped, though, that the guy who taught Con Law at UofC would know better...much much better.
