If today were any other day, I'd be doing handsprings at the fact that I have nearly the next 2 weeks off of work. But today's FISA vote was just...wow...I think I've run out of FCC - approved language to express my disgust. So, here's a link to today's roll call Senate vote. There is absolutely no excuse for 68 - 29. Read this & retch:

During days like this, I look to the words of people I most respect, so, in anticipation of a new political environment post the regime of the current ilk at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and on Capitol Hill, here are some words from George Carlin: "Hello. I'm Howard Finely [or John Edwards?], and I'm running for attorney general. This is my pledge to you: If I am elected, and someone breaks the law, I will personally go to his house and beat the $hit out of him. Thank you."
Do you feel a little better? I do! Now, on to tonight's Countdown diary.
#5 "McLame Humor" AKA "No Joking Matter" AKA "Smoke ‘Em Out" AKA "Constitution on the Line" - I guess Iranian cigarettes suck donkey droppings. I wonder what an Iranian Malboro Man looks like? I’m all for "aggressive diplomacy," but I’m under the belief that Iran’s own people aren’t that crazy about their government. Why can’t they do something? Oh, there’s Richard Wolf live and "in person." Good golly, he is a stud. Whoa! Hello?! I’m back to reality; reality’s highly over – rated. Contrary to what Senator McCentury says, military experience does not national security experience make. Oh, here’s the FISA vote. *&^%$#@! I bet Senator Feingold feels just peachy tonight. Well, to paraphrase George Carlin in his "intro" to the "7 words," we all need to begin answering the phone, "F*ck GWB and/or DICK! Hello?" I hope what Senator Feingold said about an Obama presidency is correct; criminal prosecutions would go a LONG way. "A Democrat House & Senate" may not matter if the "Democrat" if someone like Joementum or Senator Feinstein or Senator Rockefeller or, one of "my guys," Senator Bayh is the majority. OK, here I go again apologizing for my state; I went 0 – 2 (as I predicted) on the FISA vote today. I’M SORRY! I will vote for neither one of these "gentlemen" again; today’s vote was the straw that KOed the proverbial camel.
#4 "Reaction Jackson" AKA "Jackson Faction" - I’m sorry if this comment sounds harsh, but Reverend Jackson is an idiot. If he’s not smart enough to make sure his microphone’s off on FAUX News, if I were the Obama campaign, I would distance myself from him so fast the "good Rev’s" head would spin. I do not expect "journalistic standards" from FAUX News, but I do expect Rev. Jackson to not have $hit for brains. He’s been in public life and in the media environment long enough to know better.
**That mud festival looks fun! Can I go, mommy? Can I, please?! AAAAAaaWWWwww...more pandas! Cute! Look at the little guy!**
BUSHED! "I Can Make a Hat, a Broach, a Pterodactyl – Gate" Oh, kudos to infinity and beyond to whomever is responsible for the Airplane call back! Shocking jewelry?! Nice. But, that’s probably mild compared to what we’re doing to people in Gitmo, eastern Europe, or other "dark" sites. "Enemies at the Gate – Gate" It’s President Reagan’s Star Wars again. Uh, didn’t that fall flat on its arse the first time? "Katrina Trailers – Gate" The GOP demands more formaldehyde!
#3 "Vetting McCain" AKA "Theatre of War" AKA "Record Faker?" - So, is it OK for a fellow vet to question McCentury, or are they UnAmerican and needlessly questioning McCentury’s "character"? This guy is good! Go, baby – GO! Well, at least Senator McCentury had the cojones to diss a fellow vet to their face instead of behind their backs like he has been lately with his non – support of the new GI bill and such. Yea for Paul Rieckhoff! I get emails from him a lot! Great purple tie!
Keeping Tabs – The JonBenet Ramsey murder is "Tab" worthy?! Gadzooks. I bet Keith would just LOVE this.
#1 "Obama’s Family" AKA "Family Matters" AKA "Running with Kids" - I don’t think the interview was a mistake, but I can understand their parent’s uncomfort level with the kids getting so much media exposure. Others kids have been raised in the White House, and, I can’t believe I’m saying this, Senator Clinton would probably have some great advice for the Obamas in this regard.
