So yeah, I'm not pure. AT&T Uverse was sucking ass the past few days. We had them out because there was static on the line and internet and TV would both cut out when you got a phone call. Still, though, I would have had them come out to fix if it hadn't been for this FISA bullshit.
I'm switching to Time Warner and yes, I know they're no saints. In fact, I used to hate them more than AT&T. Still, it felt good to take money out of AT&T's pocket and put it in someone else's.
The good thing about switching from AT&T is that they're trying so hard to make their Uverse service a success that they don't tie you down to a contract. So even though there was a guy out here for hours setting everything up and even though the TV dude spent time in every room wiring the jacks and stuff, I'm switching to a competing company and that free installation will be all for naught.
This evening I'm going to call 'em up and berate some poor loser over the phone about how terrible the company that contracts them is. I'm going to gloss over the static and how TV and internet cut out when the phone rings. I'm going to lay it all on the fact that AT&T assisted a criminal administration to spy on Americans on American soil and then lobbied our Congress to give them amnesty. I know it won't make a difference in how AT&T runs its company or cause them to collapse and seek Chapter 11 protection but it feels good.
Anybody else taking money out of the pockets of the enablers? What's your story?
