Was one of three at the Democratic top
Strong populist policies, a hero pop
The only one addressing poverty
Now they’re accusing him of adultery
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care about John’s hair
And I don’t care about an affair
Made his money by defending the victims
Of corrupt and careless corporate systems
But loss drove him into the public eye
Handily beating Jesse Helm’s guy
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care about an affair
and I don’t care about John’s Hair
Ran for president, then Kerry’s VP
But couldn’t conquer Rove trickery
But steadily kept himself in the game
Allowing no one to forget his name
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care about anyone’s hair
and certainly not about an Edwards affair
Now he’s no longer in the running
He & Elizabeth ought to be sunning
Little press attention while on the campaign
But the press now happy to find a stain
I don’t care
I don’t care
I never thought much of Anthony Blair
Or how much it cost to cut John’s hair
Cheney still commander-in-chief
Rove free though he lied like a thief
Bush kills thousands but reporters don’t care
Press attention is on a John Edwards affair
I don’t care
I don’t care
Policies are what I want to compare
Only Democrats pay when they have an affair
I'm not a former Edwards supporter, though I have a lot of respect for both Elizabeth and him. But this recent garbage in the press, aided by Huffington Post, needs to be addressed. I'm all for going after the hypocrisy of public figures who run campaigns on a so-called "morality" platform but are meanwhile involved in all sorts of non-marital sexual exploits. But harassing someone who is not running for office and who never made "morality" one of his central issues is beyond the pale.
