This is not meant to be a substantive diary.
However, when I saw that John McCain is scheduled to be at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota that newsflash seemed too good to keep to myself.
Apparently he will be there to participate in an "annual ceremony honoring American servicemen [sic] and veterans." Wonder if he even knows that there are women in the armed services (gasp!) now.
He will precede Kid Rock at the Buffalo Chip Campground on August 4, 2008. The Buffalo Chip is well known for the rowdy behavior of its attendees including the ever-popular topless or naked women.
I know there are Vietnam Vet bikers who attend the Sturgis Rally in substantial numbers. While the bikers as a group lean toward the Republican version of patriotism (lots of flags, rhetoric and topless women), I wonder if the veterans will have anything to say to McCain about his consistent lack of support for veterans issues.
McCain:Stumbling around the grocery store one day, holding hands with the Dalai Lama in Aspen the next, and now bikers at the Buffalo Chip. Where will our boy show up next?
