The Danville News, is reporting that our own beloved Virgil Goode, Idiot Savant and Congressman from the Virginia 5th, was a target of the Daily Show.
U.S. Rep. Virgil Goode, R-5th, isn’t laughing at "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" segment that pokes fun at the Rocky Mount Republican.
Goode was featured in a clip on Tuesday night’s episode of the show reportedly riding in a gas-guzzling silver Hummer plastered with his campaign signs and those of other GOP candidates.
Who to blame? Who to blame? Ah, I know. Let's go after that newly designated Act Blue candidate that's giving me a run for my money!
But all of those "hard working, regular Virginians" need have no fear.
"First of all, I never watch ‘The Jon Stewart Show,’" Goode said Thursday from his Washington, D.C., office. "I didn’t ride in the Hummer. I don’t even know who owned the Hummer."
So all of that $4.12 gas sucked in to a 10 miles per gallon monster vehicle was not Virgil's fault. It must have just been some wacky supporter, right? Maybe it was a plot to demean one of Big Oils Biggest Supporters! That's the ticket. And, claiming you don't watch Jon Stewart is viewed as a "Good Thing" among Goode supporters. Yes. Yes it is!!
Goode pointed a finger at his Democratic opponent Tom Perriello for filming the parade and making it appear like he was hiding in the huge sports utility vehicle. He said Perriello and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama are the candidates of celebrities, and that’s why they went after him.
So, link Tom Perriello with that other shameful Celebrity, Barack Obama, and blame them both for the Hummer. Yeah, that'll work. Are you beginning to get a sense of what we deal with, here in Cadmium Red Land?
Jessica Barba, Perriello spokesperson, said Goode was walking in the parade and not riding in the Hummer. She said the campaign has nothing to do with the video and never had any contact with Jon Stewart.
"It was a humorous video made by someone not affiliated with our campaign," Barba said.
Why do I believe that a factual denial will not slow Our Good Ole' Boy down, one bit?
Goode said the parade’s path was about one-and-a-half miles long and mostly heads downhill until it ends in the downtown section. He said there’s no way he could hand out fans and pencils if he was buckled inside the Hummer.
Are you following this brilliant exchange, so far? A Hummer going down hill is not the same egregious, wasteful event as a Hummer on the flat or, Heaven for Fend, going up hill. Well, OK then.
This, folks, is our Representative. An incisive, coherent, and well developed argument has never been his strong suit. Not in Committee, not on the Floor (although he is rarely allowed to take the floor these days - he is that much of an embarrassment to the GOP.) and certainly not in off the cuff comments.
We've lost our economic base. We live miles and miles from job opportunities, most services, and much attention from the rest of the world. The only thing we have is Virgil Goode. A man whose sole investment in the 5th District is to give out pencils and fans with his name on them, at every opportunity.
HELP!! We need help... Drop a $10 on Tom and rescue your helpless Brothers and Sisters from this Pit of Idiocy.
