Facts are just something Faux News simply can't be bothered with - even when it comes to something as simple as fried chicken.
What better way to "prove" that things are going just great over in Iraq than to falsely report that a KFC has opened in Fallujah.
Paying heed to that old adage that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is - TPMMuckraker did something that is a totally foreign concept to Faux News: check the facts.
They contacted KFC Headquarters, and wouldn't you know it ... KFC's parent company, Yum! Restaurants International, had their spokesman Christophe Lecureuil report back to them:
I understand you wanted some details about the store in Falluja [sic] that looks like a KFC. This store is not approved by KFC International and we have working with the US Military to warn the troops of this situation.
Faux even got former CENTCOM commander Tommy Franks to join in on this bogus story.
Faux News' hubris, just like their falsehoods, knows no bounds.
