After reading Kos's post on how Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is choosing her "friend" over her party and her country by not supporting Taddeo, and another article on Inouye backing Stevens in his time of "trouble", not to mention the Shenanigans of Joe Lieberman, I started to think how much dead wood there is on the Democratic side.
Don't get me wrong, I will choose to vote for the Dems over the Republicans, but still there are quite a few democrats that are not exactly pushing the progressive agenda.
Granted some of these democrats are from conservative states/districts, but I think there is more to that. After all
Estes Kefauver from Tennessee, was a tireless crusader of liberal causes in the House/Senate.
So what is the problem with the Blue dogs? Note that the same has not happened to the Republicans in liberal states. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe do not bend over backwards to accommodate the Democrats, the way that say, Landrieu does.
On a similar note, Nate at 538, had an article today on Evan Bayh's move to left claiming Bayh is as liberal as Indiana can allow.
So what is stopping the other democrats in other red states/districts to follow suite. Can it be, that they are taking our votes for granted? Have they become too cautious (read afraid) and lost their spine? And what can be done to change their behavior? should we try to change/help them or just dump (primary) them? Maybe both (carrot/stick)?
In any case, this diary was partly a rant or a space for our collective rants. Let me know who is the Dino you love to hate and why.
