Speaking to the Conservative Propaganda organ, OneNewsNow (run by the American Family Association), Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachman (Republican, DU-UH), speaking about the Democratic opposition to off shore evironmental rape, er, I mean, off-shore drilling, said:
"This is their agenda," Bachmann states bluntly. "I know it is hard to believe, it's hard to fathom -- but this is 'mission accomplished' for them," she asserts. "They want Americans to take transit and move to the inner cities. They want Americans to move to the urban core, live in tenements, [and] take light rail to their government jobs. That's their vision for America."
Okay, done laughing yet? Okay, I'll give you another minute. There you go; wipe the tears from your eyes. Put aside this is an elected official, who someone voted for, who sounds like one of the less sane contributors to WorldNetDaily, and her use of code words to scare the good Suburbanites of Minnesota's Sixth District into believe they might have to actually integrate, Michele Bachman seems to actively despise cities and communities that are the main attraction for most to "Urban Life".
So the Republican Agenda has finally been boiled and reduced down to a defense of Suburban Sprawl. Family Values? Fuck that. Families don't matter. American Dream? Fuck that. Jobs and a growing economy? Fuck that too. The Conservative movement is now just a blatant defense force for the McMansion, and the Gated Communities with hour long commutes, and the Trans-Fat in your french fries. And the Michele Bachman's of the world aren't even trying to hide it any longer. Tear the world down around them and drill for oil until the Earth Bleeds just, please god no, don't make the white people move back into the city and walk!
