The car window sticker has a black oval background with McCain 2008 in white letters. As of today I have seen two of these stickers on cars in the Dallas area. Now I have no idea whether this is the "official" McCain window/bumper sticker. But I find the obvious racist message quite disturbing.
In this part of the country the black background and the white McCain 2008 tell a blunt story. It goes something like this. Well, my friends, I'm John McCain and I know y'all don't much care for me. I'm not your kind of conservative. I like to appear on the Daily Show with John Stewart more than I care to be on Hannity. And I've said some things in the past that I have now had to flip flop on so as to try to get your vote. But, my friends, I realize I'm not really making the sale am I? The Hagee thing which was supposed to bring all of your bible thumpers over to my side didn't really work out. So I was talking to one of my Rove clones and he said John you gotta level with these southern folks.
So my Southern friends that is how the black oval was born. And you know that I approve its message: that I am white and my opponent is black. Think about that a bit, my friends, and then vote white, oops I mean right...
Now truth to tell, I have not seen many McCain stickers around Dallas. And by this time in 04 those disgusting W ovals were on almost every other car. Some of them even proclaimed "I can't wait to vote." Well Dallasites aren't in such a hurry this year. But these black on white McCain stickers will get out a message of racial fear that will motivate the too-white Republicans of Dallas to vote.
McCain needs to be called on this and repudiate this obvious race baiting
