Real quick, I doubt if the link is up yet but . . .
just ten minutes ago on MSNBC's Hardball representatives from People United Means Action PAC and Say No Deal (sic) two hyper Hillary groups were subjected to David Schuster showing the glow that elevated his status before he got "pimp" with it during the primaries, made these two hyper-HRC supporters look downright buffoonish at best and possibly even subversive. He achieved this by questioning their understanding of
- how the Democratic primary process works
- their grasp of the primary numbers (popular vote)
- their definition of "democracy" (for them the Super delegates should switch votes and overturn the will of 19 million Democratic primary voters and this number does not include caucus numbers). When Schuster asked the representative of PUMA PAC, did she support abortion rights and she said yes, he asked incredulously, "Then why would you vote for John McCain?" The look in his eyes really asked, "What the *uck is wrong with you?"
Despite the absurdity of their arguments this was a good thing because
- It showed the illogic of hyper HRC supporters
- It revealed the complete lack of committment to a Democratic victory in Novemeber among these supporters
- It gave Schuster a chance to get in John McCain's ass in ways that he normally would not have
- It exposed the possibility of Republican mischief behind these efforts (the PUMA PAC rep gave $500 doillars to McCain in 2000)
- Bonus for HRC, Schuster read a statement from HRC rejecting these groups and their performance gave her a clear foil to decry and seperate herself from these individuals
All in all a fine 10 minutes of television.
