We have so many insightful and powerful diaries written here at Daily Kos. Our diaries inform, inflame, impassion, and even entertain. We Kossacks have strong voices and an even stronger will to be the change we wish to see in this country.
One of the richest, and perhaps most under-appreciated, areas of thought come in the form of comments attached to these diaries.
Here at Top Comments we strive to recognize and promote the talent of this community by highlighting outstanding comments found throughout the day by the diarist, and through nominations at made at topcomments at gmail dot com by your fellow Kossacks.
These nominations are subjective, and certainly not complete (as no one can read the complete site on a daily basis!). But hopefully they will serve to shine a light where deserved, and to give the reader a good starting point in finding conversation on the site.

Hooray! Time for the third--no, fourth!--edition of a Top Comments diary consisting of photos from my recent vacation. Alas, there are no donuts in this one, which was probably the greatest shortcoming of my vacation. Insufficient Dunkin Donuts consumption.
So, let's see what interesting highlights I can summon up for you here. Playing tourist in the place where you used to live is always fun. So, spare me my self-indulgences.
One of the highlights of my trip was seeing my dear and beloved best friend, who is moving back to New York City after three years in another country. (Now, it is only I who lives in the foreign country.) She's Belgian, so I took her to a Belgian restaurant. Here are her frites; her beer is in the background.
I really like taking pictures of people in museums. I have a whole series of them. This one I like because the girl is herself taking a picture. Meta! While I was there, I actually saw an exhibit about photographs about photography. And I took pictures in it. Your mind is now blown.
I love Bruegel, and I love The Harvesters because it was a key work in my undergraduate Art History class. I liked this picture of a young woman looking at that very painting.
And here's a Jeff Koons sculpture on the roof of the Met. I spent some time taking pictures of myself reflected in them; I will spare you those. It's made of steel. Mom could not belieeeeeve it was steel. It looks like cellophane! Oh, those crazy postmodernists. What will they think of next?
This one is from MoMA. I was waiting for srkp23 in the lobby, and amused myself by taking pictures of people reflected in the Lichtenstein. This one kind of worked.
This was just two empty storefronts, but I found it really aesthetically pleasing. In fact, I ordered a big print of it.
This is from inside PS 1, an offshoot of MoMA over in Long Island City, Queens. They forbade photos inside the museum, but I love a challenge.
One more parting shot -- here's the Manhattan skyline (I think) from the vantage point of some park on the East River in the 20s where they show movies. A little blurry, but you get the idea.
This is perhaps a less-than-thrilling diary (even for me, and it was my vacation), but I have spent a long day in meetings, so let's see what comment submissions we have, post the mojo, and I'm going to call it a night.
Top Comments Submissions:
From Timroff:
Kestrel9000’s catch of a funny typo in davefromqueen’s Hannity diary is priceless — it’s also NSFW...
From D Wreck:
luvsathroughbred starts a humorous thread in Crashing Vor’s diary about John McCain the liar. The pharmaceutical industry seems to have a drug for everything.
From brillig:
In dday's diary Update on McCain Cross Story and his Pinocchio Problem - Cafferty mentions it on CNN, Pangloss reminds us why we are not being too hard on McCain for "The Cross" story.
In mcjoan's Republican House Members Love DC, inclusiveheart points out that McCain wants Congress to cut its vacation short. Jyrinx then points out something I am mortified to say I didn't know and generated a nice thread.
Top Mojo by brillig. Thanks, brillig!
