Sheesh, after looking around this place (picking up a soda can and tossing it in the recycling bin) things seem kind of down today. Lots of "Barack Obama should do this" and "Obama should do that" (sweep, sweep).
Oh, and tons of speculation about why people will hate or love some VP pick.
I'm thinking, "What the hell, is today National Angst Day?"
Look presidential elections are long hard slogs. Now, you know (leaning on my broom) I could say something pithy: "Our current situation is like scoring a touchdown in the NFL -- you have to act like you've been there before."
The trouble with that is the smart-aleck response would be, "Oh, yeah, like the Mondale or Dukakis campaigns."
Here's the thing (whisk, whisk into a dustpan). Our candidate's better. Our party's ideas are better. We know the status quo just isn't going to cut it for anyone (dumping a wastebasket).
Look, cheer up, buck up and get to work. For a better America. For all of us.
Oh, and do your part to keep this place clean (mop, mop).
