With all the coverage of our new Veep now being a done deal, I thought we could use a diary late at night on something that will continue to be important as we continue our campaign against McCain.
Today I got a phone call from New York Times reporter Serge Klovaleski wanting to know more about something I had posted on here at Daily Kos.
Apparently the New York Times is still looking into the John Edwards story.
My earlier posts were important then, but it is now long past the time to move on
I had earlier posted comments to a diary about John Edwards, because I felt it was important to know about potentially damaging information to a candidate who was a top contender for the nominee slot. As an early supporter to Edwards, I was disappointed not in his behavior, but the dumb way he was handling his campaign.
The John Edwards story is over, and no one cares what he did or does at this point. But I find it interesting that the New York Times, along with Huffington Post and TPM have all felt it was news worthy to contact me both at home and at work within the last week about a story that is over a year old.
I am not giving any further statements because I don't want this story taking up valuable space that should now be devoted to John McCain. My question to these reporters when we spoke was why is no one looking further into Vicki Iseman and her connection to John McCain? She apparently flew around the country and attended events with McCain though out the 2000 campaign. Maybe she is just an innocent lobbyist, and in that case she should be allowed her privacy but it seems likely that there is a story here that the MSM is choosing to ignore.
John McCain has a history of cheating, most of which he likes to pretend happened a long, long time ago on a planet far, far away. His friend, pastor Warren seems more than willing to give McCain a pass on his transgressions, but there may be some people still interested. Whether you care or not about the adventures of John McCain outside his marriage, many in this country will. The MSM chose to completely ignore the John Edwards story and only now is researching it in a concerted way. They need to stop wasting research time on a dead issue and pivot to a candidate with many unexplored facets. We cannot afford the luxury of the MSM taking another year before they plan to further explore Senator McCain's past, and the Enquirer can't be the only source for the truth. I hope that McCain's connection to this lobbyist and others gets some attention before the November election, the time is now to fully 'vet the POW'.
