Just heard from Andrea Mitchel during NBC Nightly news that the McCain campaign has a new add ready to be released tomorrow.
I am paraphrasing Andrea, but she said that the ad will explot divisions within the Democratic party. The ad will mock Obama for picking Joe Biden over the "most experienced" Democrat, which is Hillary Clinton. The ad will then appeal to Hillary voters.
Here is a high-level omparison of the experience of Hillary Clinton vs. Joe Biden. Both are U.S. Senators (Biden since 1972, Clinton since 2000. Both graduated from law school. Both practiced law.
Biden serves on the following commitees:
Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights, Member
Foreign Relations, Chair
Judiciary, Member
Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs, Chair
Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Member
Subcommittee on European Affairs, Member
Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law, Member
Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Refugees, Member
Subcommittee on International Development and Foreign Assistance, Economic Affairs and International Environmental Protection, Member
Subcommittee on International Operations and Organizations, Democracy and Human Rights, Member
Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, Member
Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security, Member
Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Peace Corps and Narcotics Affairs, Member
Clinton serves on the following:
Armed Services, Member
Environment & Public Works, Member
Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, Member
Special Committee on Aging, Member
Subcommittee On Readiness and Management Support, Member
Subcommittee on Airland, Member
Subcommittee on Children and Families, Member
Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety, Member
Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, Member
Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety, Member
Subcommittee on Superfund and Environmental Health, Chair
Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Member
Also, Clinton was First Lady of the United States for 8 years. She is an expert on healthcare. Biden is an expert on foreign policy.
Both have different experiences, but is it truthful to say that Clinton is the more experienced?
The McCain campaign: they will do or say anything. And the sad part of all this is that some diehard Clinton supporters will vote for him, a man who does not share any of their political beliefs, rather than Obama, who shares 99% of Clinton's political beliefs.
