Hillary nailed it. If this was a routine on the balance beam, she's get the gold without any questions asked regardless of the performance of underage Chinese gymnasts.
But, of course, that is not the story.
I was hopeful (delusional, I guess) that the story after the speech would be how Clinton stepped up and delivered a speech that promoted unity, whacked McCain and the Republican brand, and allowed her and her supporters to fall on their swords for Obama.
But no, one of the first sentences out of David Gregory's mouth immediately after the speech was, "Are Democrats now feeling "buyer's remorse" about Obama after Hillary Clinton's speech tonight?"
You know what, Mr. Gregory, your demeanor worked as a rougn-and-tumble sparkplug in the White House Press Room, but ENOUGH with the melodrama encouraging problems with every breath you take.
Sadly, it's not just him. I expect nothing positive from Morning Joe, but too many people are talking about Clinton supporters. I'd love to bet that there are more pissed off Ron Paul Republicans than upset Clinton supporters - but of course, we'll never hear about that because it doesn't fit into the narrative.
The other thing that pissed me off is that this chattering jackasses keep complaining about the convention being too "light" on McCain. This would be all well and good if they we're talking over Gov. Schweitzer absolutely brow-beating McCain.
Let's not show you the news. Let's make up a story and treat that as news. I wouldn't have even seen Schweitzer's speech unless I flipped over the CSPAN.
Can we change this nonsense?
PS. My wife believes Rachel Maddow needs to wear blues as her makeup choices, which would improve her look on camera. In her words, "She needs cool tones - blues and greens - to make her eyes pop. She was wearing a pink/rose color last night and it looked bad. She has really pretty, vibrant eyes. But because her eyes aren't blue themselves, the lids need an accent color to make them pop."
I'm just the messenger.
