When I first heard about the group of supposed "Hillary supporters" being so upset that Hillary didn't get the Dem nomination that they planned to vote for McSame, it seemed to me that this was just totally insane; it made no logical sense whatsoever. How could anyone who believed so strongly in Hillary and her ideals say that they would then go and vote for someone who was the complete polar opposite of Hillary. To me, that said that they were not "Hillary supporters", they were really Hillary haters and Hillary traitors.
So how could this be? Then the probable, logical answer came to me:
Could it be that Karl Rove devised one of his evil little plots months ago, or even late last year? Round up a couple of dozen Republican operatives and lay out a plan. Each of them would become dedicated "Hillary supporters". Uncle Karl would give each of them a couple of hundred dollars, and tell them to contribute it to Hillary's campaign. Do it different ways: some would donate it all at once; others would donate $25 at a time and still others would donate differing amounts at different times.
Then each would go to their local Hillary campaign HQ and offer to volunteer: hand out flyers (to their circular file when they got home), knock on doors for Hillary (sure they would; wink, wink), phone bank (like pretend phone bank: talk into an empty line), etc.
Then if Hillary lost the nomination, they could all jump up and down, scream and moan and say they were going to vote for McSame. Unka Karl and his minions back at GOP HQ would crank out countless press releases about this new PUMA group, and feed them every day for weeks and months to their toadies in the traditional media as proof of the deep divisions in the Democratic party.
If anyone ever questioned the validity of these "Hillary supporters", they could always point to their financial contributions to her campaign, and all of their "volunteer work" on behalf of Hillary. "See what dedicated Hillary supporters we all were."
Ahhh, you say, what if Hillary actually won the nomination, then this planning would all be for naught. My friends, do you think Unka Karl would be such a poor planner? At the same time he could have set up this group on Hillary's side, he could do the exact same thing on the Obama side. Then, no matter who wins, he would be all set to sow discord among the Dems and have his press buddies play it to the hilt.
Fact? Fiction? I report. You decide.
