What if the bounce that is showing in the Gallup tracking poll is actually Clinton supporters coming home for good?
This would be election-changing. These are the people who voted for Hillary and were waiting to see how things turned out or saying that they would not vote for Obama at all. And, now, have changed their minds and/or been convinced to join the bandwagon.
This bounce includes Michelle's speech and Hillary's speech. What if Hillary supporters saw that there is not much difference between the story of Michelle and the story of Hillary? What if Hillary supporters were excited and influenced by Hillary's speech and have liked the way Hillary has been honored during the convention?
What if this bounce is the actual returning of Clinton Democrats? And they never go away?
If this is true ... what's going to happy when the polls include Bill's speech?
Update #1: I'm not talking about Clinton supporters who are die-hard supporters ... the ones who donate and volunteer. I don't think many of the "18 million" are in the category. I'm talking about ones who are comfortable with the Clintons because they know them and aren't comfortable (at least during the primaries) with Obama. These are people who don't want to vote for McCain but were questioning Obama just because they didn't know him.
Update #2: A little evidence to support the hypothesis?
