And here, I go on at some length without divulging too much. I tease and I titillate. I poke and I prod. I leave you wondering: snark? concern? insight? or just shilling for someone?
And just when you think that perhaps you'll get enough information out of the intro to decide whether you want to read the whole diary, I do something like this:
With luck, my feeble attempt to get attention with my provocative diary title will draw enough people in, and my cliff-hanger of an intro will make enough people click, and then maybe just maybe someone won't realize that I'm just posting a diary because I either:
- desperately seek the approval of others
- hope that the point I am making (if I ever get around to making one) will somehow serve my hidden agenda
- hope that I might even make the REC LIST (because if there is one thing I want more than to write a diary with lots of comments and tips, it's the honour of adding: UPDATED to my diary later so I can thank everyone for putting me on the rec list.
Sadly, this is Daily Kos, and contrary to what "some say", people here are not stupid, and they can tell the difference between genuine concern, and concern trolling. And they can tell the difference between provocative style and provocative subject matter. Heck, they are even smart enough to notice when a relatively unknown diarist such as myself shamelessly flatters them in his/her pointless diary in hopes of not being chastised for doing the very thing he/she posted this diary to mock. Of.
And now, a pointless poll, just so everyone knows that "hey! I'm one of you!"
