So, I'm a journalist by trade and training, working in politics because a politician I believe in asked me to.
But I still get all the press releases. I still subscribe to the PR NewsWire and whatnot. And today I got the funniest damn press release ever.
The headline - I shit you not - is:
The Miss America Organization is Proud To Announce Former Miss Alaska Contestant, Sarah Heath Palin as Vice Presidential Republican Candidate
See, it's funny partly because it came out about four hours after the choice was announced, so this Miss America Organization is not "announcing" anything.
But beyond that.
Miss America? Really?
Do we, as Americans, want the words "Miss America" and "Vice President" in the same sentence?
I mean, for real.
It's bad enough that there's already a website at vpilf.com.
Here's the rest of it.

It has their PR person's contact info on it. I have half a mind to call her up and say I'm doing a story for some political rag and I want the "Miss America Angle."
What do you all think?
